Quetzalcoatl – The “White Alien God” of the Mesoamericans

Since 1200 after Christ, in central Mexico, he was considered the god of learning, agriculture, science and the arts. He was also considered the patron god of merchants, since he managed to discover corn with the help of a giant red ant that led him to a mountain full of grains and seeds. The legends named this entity Quetzalcóatl, as “the lord in the dawn”. This is one of the reasons why he is believed to be from a faraway planet.

Quetzalcoatl is described as fair-skinned, bearded, and tall, with a serpentine head that hides his human appearance. The first surviving image of Quetzalcoatl comes from the Olmec civilization with a sculpture at La Venta, of a beaked serpent with a feather crest surrounded by two quetzal birds. The first representations found in Mexico are found in Teotihuacán, where there are sculptures of feathered serpents dating from the 3rd century after Christ, and which is also the place where a six-level pyramid was built in honor of the Serpent God of knowledge. The deity was often described in architectural and sculptural decorations, appearing at other sites such as Xochivalco, but was rarely depicted in any human form before the Late Postclassic period.

By 1200 AD, Quetzalcoatl was represented in his human form and wore mainly shell jewelry, and a conical cap. Some believe that he probably used it to cover the drastically elongated shape of his head.
The writer Robert Marx has written extensively about this concept of “white gods”, concluding that they are represented in almost all indigenous cultures of the Americas.
After his tour of South America, the British writer Harold Wilkins also came to the conclusion that a vanished white race had occupied all of South America in ancient times, helping the indigenous people grow food and build pyramids along with other large structures that would otherwise they would be impossible to build, considering the lack of knowledge and tools during that time. He also claimed that Quetzalcoatl was from Atlantis.
Proponents of the ancient astronaut theory claim that the “white gods” were actually extraterrestrial visitors. Peter Kolosimo believes that the Quetzalcoatl myths were supported, in fact he claimed that the legends actually described an entire race of white men who were born in spaceships and migrated to Atlantis. after the city was destroyed by water, the remaining white men moved to the Americas where they were treated as “white gods” by the “primitive inhabitants of the earth.”
Another interesting theory is based on the writings of the Franciscan friar Bernardino de Sahagún, from the 16th century, in which he describes the meeting between the Mexican emperor “Moctezuma II” and the Spanish captain “Hernán Cortés”. At first sight of the white Spaniards, Emperor Moctezuma thought that the “white gods” had returned from the east, and Captain Cortés was the god Quetzalcóatl. Due to his beliefs, the Emperor gave him a mask that represented the “Feathered Serpent”.
The mask was carved from a single piece of cedar wood and covered with mosaics of turquoise. The teeth were made of white clam shell. The design consisted of two green and blue serpents, which encircled the eyes and entwined over the nose and around the mouth. According to Sahagún’s description, it was worn with a crown of dazzlingly long bright blue-green feathers, possibly those of the quetzal, a rain forest bird with iridescent blue-green plumage.
According to the Florentine Codex, written some 50 years after the conquest, when Moctezuma learned of the arrival of foreigners, he reacted as if he thought the newcomer was Quetzalcóatl. Hence, all the presents that Moctezuma sent to Cortés were related to Quetzalcóatl. The Codex says that when he received it in Mexico – Tenochtitlan, he exclaimed: «You have arrived in your city: Mexico. Here you have come to sit on your throne. Oh, for a short time we keep it for you. “Arrive in your land, come and rest, take possession of your royal houses.” Moctezuma addressed Cortés as the returned god Quetzalcóatl.
Over time, we educated ourselves through history and got a glimpse of what life was. At our current level of understanding, we realize that some things in the past might have been impossible to achieve without outside help. The white gods could have given us the knowledge in which the Mesoamericans obtained power. But as the aliens left, the indigenous people could not suffice to control that power, which was given to them too soon without warning of its side effects. Ultimately, it led to the self-destruction of the most knowledgeable and prosperous civilizations of our past because the guidance of the extraterrestrials was gone.
Will they return as the prophecies predict and help us build our future again?
