Institute The privately owned International UFO Institute, established in Japan’s Fukushima prefecture in the summer of 2021, recently announced the results of its first year of operations.

The institute is headed by Takeharu Mikami, editor-in-chief of Mu magazine (specializing in supernatural phenomena and paranormal mysteries).

The area has long been famous for UFO sightings around Mount Senganmori.

Mikami told journalists that his researchers have so far registered 452 UFO sightings in the past year – 125 of which were supported by photos and another 24 by video.

According to him, all documents have been analyzed using special software to ensure they are not fake.

However, only a few images have been made public. They captured what looked like disc-shaped objects of unknown origin in the sky.

“It is not a bird. It is likely a UFO,” said Mikami, commenting on one of the photos.

Local authorities have called Iinomachi prefecture “the home of aliens in Japan”. The local Fureaikan UFO Museum has a collection of about 3,000 documents on the subject.
